PURPOSE
The Job Developer works with local community and on-campus employers to develop part-time opportunities for the Job Location Development (JLD) program and Community Service Work Study (CSWS) program and support job creation, internships, job placement, career skill trainings, and employer outreach. The Job Developer will oversee the administration of an orientation and training program for on-campus student employees, hiring managers, CSWS students, and assist with the career readiness assessment for students. This position involves identifying, establishing, and nurturing relationships with potential employers while assisting students in enhancing their employability skills. This position will assist in designing and executing a marketing strategy and events to promote part-time employment opportunities for students. The position will also be responsible for JLD reports, part-time employment surveys, on-campus job fairs, customized career skill training workshops, and other recruiting events.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Functional Area 1: Program Management
Percent Effort: 40%
- Assist with career portal (Handshake) database maintenance, which includes but is not limited to reviewing, approving and/or declining, employer accounts and job postings.
- Assist in locating and developing jobs that generate total student wages exceeding the total amount of the federal funds spent under the JLD Program.
- Design strategies to attract new employers and campus hiring departments to support more job creation.
- Develop employer relationships with internal and external partners and work actively to promote on-campus and part-time jobs to students. Assist employers in building their brands on campus, thereby increasing engagement with TAMU-CC and its students.
- Assist with overseeing on-campus internship program and Community Service Work Study program
- Serve as an expert consultant to external and internal employers on student behavior, needs, and desires.
Functional Area 2: Promotion & Support
Percent Effort: 20%
- Design awareness campaigns and marketing plans to promote part-time jobs & internships to campus community.
- Design campaigns to promote career skill training workshops to ensure high attendance across campus.
- Hold informational meetings & needs assessment with student groups, conduct presentations to employers and campus partners.
- Identify, develop, and nurture relationships with campus resource partners to support hiring process and meaningful working experiences for students.
Functional Area 3: Training & Assessment
Percent Effort: 20%
- Administer an orientation and develop career skill training program for on-campus student employees and interns
- Develop training workshops and resources for campus hiring departments and external employers
- Oversee career readiness assessment program
Functional Area 4: Administration & Report
Percent Effort: 15%
- Conduct & promote student employment surveys to ensure the highest response rate possible
- Assist with reports for Job Location Development program
Functional Area 5: Others
Percent Effort: 5%
- Serve on committees and assist with special projects as needed. Assist department staff with special events.
- Conduct other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel Administration, Business, Counseling or closely related field.
- Three (3) years of experience in a Career Services field or closely related (internship experience is accepted).
- Additional education may be used as a substitute for the minimum experience requirement:
+ Masters degree in related field and one (1) year of related experience. - Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills.

- Experience in developing & conducting professional development training workshops
- University Experience in a traditional university setting.
SALARY: $43,888/annual, approximately.
$3,657.34/monthly.
