The Career Services Specialist reports to the Coordinator, Career Services and is responsible for providing individual and group career services to community college students, prospective students, and college alumni. The Specialist will help individuals explore career and academic options, make decisions about their academic program of study and assist them with career planning. In addition, this person provides guidance and coaching through the use of educational and employment-related resources and activities to facilitate students' successful transition from college to career. This is a full-time, grant funded staff position.
Education Required:
- Bachelor's Degree from an institutionally accredited college/university
Education Preferred:
- Master's degree from an institutionally accredited college/university in Counseling, College Student Personnel, Psychology, Student Services Administration, Higher Education, or related field.
- Global Career Development Facilitator Certification
Experience Required:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a college or university Career Services office.
Experience Preferred:
- A minimum of two years of experience in a college or university Career Services office.
- Experience communicating remotely using platforms such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom
- Experience making presentations, in person or remotely, and organizing campus or community-based events and programs.
- Knowledge of career planning processes.
