- Project organisation and management
- Support with the organisation and management of research projects.
- Logistical and administrative support for the research team.
- Organising patient appointments and coordinating monitoring visits.
- Collaboration in the development and implementation of clinical trials.
- Management of and direct involvement in projects and clinical trials, coordinating study-related activities and ensuring their proper execution.
- Experimental work and sample processing
- Processing of biological samples and carrying out basic laboratory techniques
- Collecting and analysing biological samples as part of projects and clinical trials.
- Carrying out biochemical and molecular analyses of the biological samples obtained.
- Maintaining experimental records and complying with biosafety regulations.
- Data management and analysis
- Recording, managing and analysing quantitative and qualitative data.
- Providing support in the management and preliminary analysis of experimental data.
- Thorough review of medical records, collection of clinical data and completion of case report forms (CRFs).
- Advanced database design for the structuring of information.
- Development of bioinformatic analyses applied to the integration of clinical and molecular data.
- Documentation, reports and scientific dissemination
- Involvement in the preparation of reports based on the analysis of clinical and molecular data, scientific publications and dissemination activities.
- Protocols and procedures
- Collaboration in the implementation, updating and monitoring of protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for both the management of clinical trials and molecular analyses.
- Training and professional development
- Participation in continuing professional development activities related to the project
Specific Requirements
- Degree in Biology, Biomedicine, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Nutrition, Pharmacy or a related subject.
- Certified knowledge of English minimum C1 level.

THIS CONTRACT IS FUNDED THROUGH THE EITB MARATOIA - BIOEF CALL FOR PROPOSALS, REFERENCE BIO25/EC/011/BB
The employee must comply with the center's operating rules in terms of dedication, duties, working hours, and vacations. Candidates for this position will be included in a Job Pool that may be considered for future project requirements (Ref. BIO25/EC/011/BB).
Eligibility criteria
- Master’s degree in Bioinformatics and experience in data analysis (0–10)
- Experience in clinical trial management and clinical data analysis (0–12.5)
- Leadership of research projects as Principal Investigator (0–5)
- Proficiency in English and Basque (0–5)
- Demonstrable experience in research in molecular biology and/or genetics and proficiency in techniques such as: genomic DNA and RNA extraction, conventional PCR, real-time PCR, FISH, Bioanalyzer, and SNP arrays. Demonstrable experience in the following technologies: mass sequencing, library preparation, and use of Ion Torrent NGS platforms (0–20)
- Demonstrable experience in the analysis of genetic variants. Use of bioinformatics tools for analysing and predicting the biological significance of these variants. Proficiency in the following software tools: Sequencing Analysis, GeneMapper, SeqScape, GenMapAgilent’s Feature Extraction V12.0, Cytogenomics 3.0, Torrent Suite, Ion Reporter, Quantum Soft, IGV software (0–15)
- Office software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.), PDF, web-based tools (Ensemble, BLAST, DGV, ISCA, DECIPHER, HGMD), sequence alignment (Clustalw), in silico predictors (Varsom, SIFT, PolyPhen, Mutation Taster, etc.) Knowledge of bioinformatics focused on genomic analysis (0–15)
- Demonstrable experience in writing scientific articles, drafting reports, conducting systematic reviews and evaluations of the international scientific literature, publishing findings in scientific journals, and presenting at national and international conferences. As well as demonstrable experience in drafting proposals, collaborating on and managing research projects (0–10)
- Ability to work in a team, good organisational skills, initiative and problem-solving ability (0–5)
- Certificate of disability minimum 33% (0-2.5)
