The Fundación de Investigación Biomédica del Hospital Universitario de la Princesa is is announcing an opening for a higher degree position for the role of Research Assistant in the Research Unit of the Oncohematology Department at Hospital Niño Jesús, under the supervision of Dr. Manuel Ramírez Orellana.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Genetics, Biomedical Sciences or a related field.
- Master’s Degree in Computational Biology or Bioinformatics.
Specific Requirements
EXPERIENCE
- At least two years of experience in WES variant calling analysis and structural data analysis using OGM (Optical Genome Mapping).
- At least two years of experience using the following programming languages and tools: R, Python, Bash and Snakemake.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of scRNA-seq, WES and OGM sequencing data analysis.
- Experience in multi-omics data analysis of samples from childhood and adolescent cancers.
- Knowledge of molecular biology.
- Knowledge of the integration of omics data and clinical data.
- Knowledge of Biostatistics.
- Proficiency in English.

Benefits
The selected candidate will work full-time, 37.5 hours per week, and the workplace will be located at Hospital Niño Jesús.
The annual employment cost will be €38,000.00, including base salary, the proportional share of additional salary payments and employer costs.
This contract will be executed in accordance with the provisions of art. 23 bis de la Ley 14/2011 Contrato de actividades científico técnicas, associated with the Project: “Descifrando biomarcadores epigenéticos para identificar portadores preleucémicos en riesgo.” AC24/0122.
This contract is co-funded by the European Union.
Eligibility criteria
Scoring: the criteria for evaluating this offer are as follows up to a maximum of 70 points:
- Experience in scRNA-seq and WES sequencing data analysis: 10 points per programme, up to a maximum of 20 points.
- Experience in OGM structural data analysis: 10 points.
- Knowledge of the integration of omics data and clinical data: 10 points.
- Knowledge of molecular biology: 10 points.
- Knowledge of Biostatistics: 10 points.
- Personal interview: 10 points.
Selection process
Eligible applications will be assessed by a three-member Selection Committee.
Shortlisted candidates may be invited to a personal interview.
