ABOUT CRAG:
CRAG is an independent research institution engaged in leading-edge basic and applied plant and farm animal sciences. CRAG is established as a Consortium of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and University of Barcelona (UB). The Center is located at the UAB Campus, and currently hosts 200 members from across the world.
Research Programs at CRAG (from basic science to applied research using plant experimental model systems, crops and farm animals) make extensive use of genomic technologies and large sets of genetic and genomic data.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Center for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) is looking for a Lab Technician to be part of the group Synthetic Biology and Photosynthesis. The successful candidate will be in charge of designing building and testing different genetic circuits in non-model species.
The candidate will be in charge of:
- Cloning genetic parts
- Perform stable and transient transformation in different species
- Assist in the genotyping and phenotyping of such transgenic lines
The tasks are included within the framework of the project ERC-2023-StG-METACAM-GA101116147.

Specific Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
Educational requirements:
- A bachelors in biology or a similar discipline.
- A masters degree in plant molecular biology or similar.
- Previous experience in a plant synthetic biology laboratory.
Skills:
Experience:
- Experience in designing genetic constructs.
- A solid experience in transforming plants with an emphasis in non-model species.
- Experience in confocal microscopy.
Languages: ENGLISH
Level: Good
