About the role

A major focus of Dr. Roddie’s UCL Translation Team at the UCL Cancer Institute is the manipulation of T-cells for therapeutic applications. The main purpose of this position is the processing of patient samples from UCL's ongoing CAR T-cell trials. The position will also offer the possibility to conduct research around treatment responses using relevant protocols/ assays. GCLP and HTA training will be provided during the tenure of this post.

The successful candidate will be a part of a collaborative group of scientists and will be expected to actively assist and participate in all aspects of the research, as well as in the basic maintenance of the laboratory.

The job does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role.

This is a full-time position funded for 1 year in the first instance, subject to standard probationary requirements, with the possibility of extension.

Successful candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, related discipline or equivalent experience, knowledge of and/ or interest in CAR T-cell Immunotherapies.

A Master’s degree in Biological Sciences or related discipline and experience in assisting with lab maintenance are desirable but not essential.
