The role sits within the Business Operations function, and you will work in the Centres team to directly support the day-to-day activity of the Centres’ activities across the Business School.
King’s Business School has 3 large centres (Centre for Sustainable Business, King’s Global Institute for Women’s Leadership and I-LEAD: Centre for Innovation, Leadership, Education and Development) of which this role will support primarily The Centre for Sustainable Business.
About the role:
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the KBS Centres to deliver their planned activities for 2025–2027. Working closely with the Centre Manager, the post holder will assist in managing the Centres’ projects and day-to-day operations to deliver a high performing Centres function in KBS. This includes providing high-quality administrative, operational and project support, such as events and meeting coordination, diary management, data reporting and financial administration.
We are seeking candidates with a keen eye for detail and a strong background in business operations or administration. The post holder will be an important member of both the Centres’ and the wider Business Operations team, contributing to the running of events, financial processes, and communications.
Responsibilities include supporting the organisation of Centre events and seminars, handling essential business functions like processing financial data, monitoring budgets, maintaining records, and developing operational processes. The role will support the Centres' communication strategies by assisting with web content management and social media activities.
This is a part-time role (20 Hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 26th February 2027.
About you:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- Education to degree level or equivalent professional experience in operations, administration or projects
- Highly responsive with excellent organisational and time management skills to prioritise effectively and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent numerical and data management skills with the ability to extract, analyse and present complex numerical data to enable effective, data driven decisions
- Strong written and verbal skills to engage a wide range of stakeholders and draft clear, professional communications.
- Ability to work independently, proactively, and flexibly, using sound judgment and initiative to address complex problems.
- Ability to contribute effectively as part of a team with a ‘hands-on’ approach to working.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office and SharePoint, with confidence in learning new systems, including data/AI and automation tools.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of web/social media – web updates, social media posting and newsletter writing
- Project coordination experience or qualification
- Experience working in Higher Education, research, academic, or other non-profit sectors
- Experience providing high-level administrative support to senior leaders, including diary management and meeting coordination

Grade and Salary: £23,445.60 – £26,345.40 per annum inclusive of London Weighting
