KCOM - Assistant/Associate Professor, Physiology
A.T. Still University's Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) is seeking a full-time professor of physiology at the assistant/associate level on the Kirksville, Missouri campus. This position is a joint appointment with KCOM and MOSDOH. This person reports to the Physiology chairperson for academic assignments within KCOM-MOSDOH.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Academic assignment - teaching in biochemistry courses within the Department of Physiology at KCOM and MOSDOH
- Scholarly activity - develop and conduct a scientific research program or other scholarly work.
- Professional service - contribute to the academic mission of the university.
- Participate in the teaching mission of the Department of Physiology.
- Perform independent, externally funded basic science research or other scholarly activity.
- Contribute to the academic mission of the university through service to the college and university, and service to the profession through biochemistry or research-oriented organizations at the local, regional, and national/international level.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- PhD or related doctoral degree/DO/MD.
- General knowledge in physiology for the purpose of teaching physiology to first and second-year medical and dental students.
- Postdoctoral research experience, teaching experience required, biochemistry teaching experience in a medical/dental setting preferred, experience with budgets, basic computer experience, technical experience necessary to conduct research/scholarly program.
