KEYS Internship Resident Coordinator (Temporary)
Position Highlights
The BIO5 Institute at the University of Arizona is seeking a Resident Coordinator for the KEYS 2026 Internship Program. The KEYS Program is a 7-week research internship for Arizona high school students, ages 16-18 years old, from June 1, 2026-July 17, 2026. We are looking for a Resident Life Coordinator to provide participant oversight and support during the internship. The Resident Coordinator will aid with U of A Residence Life and Minor Policy compliance while living in the dorms during the duration of program dates. They will also provide support and mentorship to the resident assistants and act as the lead KEYS staff member in the dorms.
The ideal candidate will be excellent communicator, can live in campus dorm housing (provided) during program dates, and be able to provide support to both program participants and program resident assistants. This candidate will have the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of administrative, scientific, and academic groups. A background in science is a plus! BIO5 transcends traditional research models by promoting intensive interdisciplinary collaboration with individuals from many departments and colleges within the University of Arizona. The BIO5 Institute also interfaces with a wide variety of constituents across Arizona as well as both the national and global science communities. BIO5 is dedicated to stimulating leading-edge interdisciplinary research into real-world applications in the fields of medicine and agriculture.

Part-time availability from March 2026 - May 2026, for program training and certifications. Full Time availability (40 hours a week) including weekend availability from June 2026- July 20, 2026.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide mentorship to KEYS Resident Assistants living and working with KEYS interns in campus housing dormitories, including operational and programmatic support.
- Lead meetings with KEYS resident assistants weekly.
- Triage and liaise between KEYS RAs and Program Manager.
- Supervise, engage, and support KEYS Internship participants living in campus housing dormitories and during social outings.
- Review nightly duty logs created and uploaded by KEYS Resident Assistants to create a plan of action for any events that occurred during nightly rounds.
- Meeting with KEYS housing staff and KEYS program staff weekly.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively with participants, faculty, and staff
- Reliable and punctual
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong desire to work directly with students while living and working in a residential setting
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of crisis management and intervention techniques

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
- 1 year of relevant work experience.
- Ability to live in campus dorm housing from May 30-July 17, 2026
- Minimum age-18 years old by date of hire (March 30, 2026)
- Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education, student affairs, or counseling or other related area.
- Experience working with high school students.
- Experience working with internships, summer camps, and/or student organizations.
