Lab Technician
Overview
The Department of Physics at Princeton University, under the direction of Professor Jim Olsen, is seeking an experienced wire bonder to support the CMS Outer Tracker (OT) project, funded by Fermilab.
The OT is a critical component of the CMS detector at CERN, designed to measure the trajectories and momenta of charged particles as part of the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) program. The tracker will comprise six barrel layers and ten endcap layers (5+5), with each layer containing modules made up of two silicon sensors. The new detector will include more than 13,000 modules and will fully replace the current strip tracker, with an expected operational lifetime of 10 years.
