Your opportunity
Join Southern Cross Analytical Research Services (SCARS) as a Technical Administration Officer, suited to someone who is confident working across both laboratory and administrative tasks, combining computer-based systems with practical work involving chemicals, samples and laboratory equipment. Working closely with technical teams, you will contribute to procurement, sample receipting, preparation and workflow coordination across a dynamic laboratory environment.
You will make an impact by:
Applying safe chemical handling, storage and disposal practices
Supporting laboratory workflows to ensure timely, high-quality analysis outcomes
Managing procurement, receipting and preparation of laboratory samples and consumables
Assisting with equipment maintenance, quality processes and staff training

To succeed in this role, you will also need:
A relevant certificate-level qualification (e.g. TAFE Cert III or IV in Laboratory Skills and Techniques) or equivalent experience in an analytical chemistry laboratory environment
Demonstrated knowledge of chemistry and laboratory practices, including quality assurance processes
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Confidence working with laboratory systems, records and computer-based processes
A commitment to workplace health and safety in a laboratory environment

Your opportunity is:
Full-time, fixed term (6 months)
Located at Lismore, NSW 2480
HEW Level 4. The base salary ranges from $75,500 - $81,079 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $94,862.
