Job Description

  • Full-time, Fixed-Term position at HEW Level 7 until [December 2028].
  • Hawkesbury campus with flexible working arrangements.
  • Salary: $104,953 – $113,204 per annum, plus 17% Super and Leave Loading

Design and deliver impactful learning solutions that build capability across Western.

The Opportunity

As a Learning and Development Officer, you will play a key role in shaping the capability of the University’s workforce. You will partner with stakeholders to design and deliver contemporary learning experiences that enhance staff performance, support organisational priorities, and contribute to a positive learning culture.

You will apply evidence-based instructional design, leveraging digital learning technologies to create scalable and engaging content. Your work will extend across facilitation, program development, LMS content management, and evaluating the effectiveness of learning initiatives.

This role is central to ensuring Western’s learning portfolio remains current and aligned to emerging needs. Through consultation, data-driven insights, and continuous improvement, you will help embed high-quality learning solutions that support staff success and strengthen organisational capability.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Deliver well-designed learning programs using contemporary instructional design methods.
  • Facilitate workshops, webinars, and training programs that engage diverse learner groups.
  • Apply data and feedback to evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain high-quality content across the LMS and digital learning platforms.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify capability gaps and propose learning solutions.

About You

  • Experience designing and delivering learning programs using modern instructional design.
  • Strong facilitation skills across in-person and digital delivery modes.
  • Ability to analyse evaluation data and recommend improvements.
  • Proficiency using LMS platforms and digital learning tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
