Texas A&M University -Texarkana is seeking to find an outstanding candidate for the Assistant Director of Sports Information. This position ensures that information about the University's intercollegiate athletics programs is available to the public in a timely and effective manner.

Salary Infromation: The expected salary for this position is $48,000.00 annually.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists in publicity efforts for all sponsored sports, including writing press releases and feature stories; producing and editing game programs, game notes, and media guides; helping to maintain historical records; distributes athletic information to all media outlets; assists in the relations with local, regional, and national media
• Maintenance of the official athletics web site including schedules, rosters, stories, player biographies
• Submit schedules, statistics, other data to conference and NAIA
• Assists with game-day operations, including media relations, game management and statistical services
• Trains and supervises graduate students, student workers and game-day staff
• Facilitates the streaming of athletic events

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in sports journalism, sports administration, public relations, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated strong writing and verbal skills, web design, and basic computer application experience.    
• Demonstrated reliability and ability to perform under deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

• Four years of experience in athletic communications, public relations, media relations or related work history.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with video streaming applications
• Excellent time management skills
• Experience with Canva, Gipper, or other graphic design platforms
