Salary Range
$90,000.00 depending on qualifications
Essential Functions
This lecturer role is essential to delivering high-quality instruction and student support within the College of Business, directly contributing to UTPB's mission of academic excellence and student success. The position includes teaching 24-26 credit hours per academic year (typically eight courses), with adjustments made for required service duties. Faculty in this role will teach undergraduate and graduate accounting courses; support curriculum development; participate in academic advising; and contribute to assessment processes aligned with SACSCOC and AACSB accreditation standards. The lecturer will also be expected to maintain AACSB Instructional Professional status through meaningful professional development or certification. Service duties include attending meetings, engaging in recruitment events, supporting student organizations, and participating in key university functions. Summer teaching opportunities may be available. This role plays a vital part in fostering student engagement, retention, and overall program quality.
- Teach 24-26 credit hours per academic year (typically eight courses), with adjustments made for required service duties.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate accounting courses as assigned.
- Support student engagement, retention, and success through academic advising.
- Provide face-to-face and online teaching interactions while maintaining a regular on-campus presence at least three days per week.
- Assist in collecting and reporting assessment data required for SACSCOC and AACSB accreditation.
- Achieve appropriate student learning outcomes using sound pedagogical practices and appropriate instructional technology.
- Meet all deadlines and follow required processes for submitting grades.
- Advise students and provide individualized support during regular weekly office hours.
- Participate in course revisions and curriculum development as assigned.
- Engage in impactful research output aligned with the mission of the College, including basic, applied, or pedagogical research, as appropriate.
- Maintain AACSB Instructional Professional status through continual professional development or relevant certification.
- Attend department, college, and university faculty meetings, convocations, commencement ceremonies, recruitment activities, and community events.
- Enhance student engagement and retention through instruction and service activities.
- Support discipline-related student clubs and activities as needed.

Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Accounting from an AACSB-accredited program.
- AACSB Instructional Professional credentials in the Accounting discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated work history reflecting strong communication skills and effective teamwork.
- Collegiate teaching experience.
- CPA designation.
