Position Summary
The College of Engineering at the University of Georgia invites applications for an academic-appointment (9-month) non-tenure-track Lecturer position in Mechanical Engineering within the School of Environmental, Civil, Agricultural and Mechanical Engineering (ECAM) beginning August 1, 2026. This position will be supervised by the School Chair of ECAM, a position currently held by Dr. Ben Davis.
The School of ECAM is responsible for administering four undergraduate degree programs, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering and Environmental Engineering, as well as two graduate programs at the M.S and Ph.D. levels. With an effort of 100% instruction, this position is expected to teach 12 credit hours per semester in topic areas that support the undergraduate and entry level graduate programs in Mechanical Engineering.
Areas of particular teaching need include both lecture and laboratory instruction in the following general areas: Core courses and courses in the Mechanical Engineering curriculum, ECAM design courses (Statics, Dynamics, Strength of Materials, Systems, Design Methodologies and Senior Design Capstone), and technical elective courses. Position responsibilities include effective classroom teaching of undergraduate courses, laboratory supervision, mentoring undergraduate engineering students, and working with other faculty on innovative teaching methods within the College’s rapidly-growing instructional programs.
