Description: The Department of Construction Management at the University of Houston invites applications for a part-time Lecturer to teach CNST 4397 – Advanced Work Package Scheduling during the Summer 2025 term. This senior-level elective offers students an advanced and applied understanding of Advanced Work Packaging (AWP), a cutting-edge methodology designed to improve project efficiency, predictability, and safety in industrial and commercial construction. The successful candidate will engage undergraduate students through dynamic instruction, group-based learning, and interactive planning activities, fostering both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures and lead interactive sessions
- Develop course materials and assignments
- Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback
- Engage with students to mentor and support their professional growth
- Collaborate with program leadership to ensure course alignment with industry standards
- An MS degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related discipline
- A minimum of five (5) years of industry experience, specifically in AWP, project planning, or related construction processes
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Prior teaching or training experience in a higher education or industry setting (preferred)
- Professional certifications such as AWP Certification, PMI-SP, or equivalent
- Proficiency with industry-standard scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, SmartPlant)
- Experience with collaborative or experiential teaching methods
- Cover letter detailing interest, relevant experience, and teaching philosophy
- Curriculum Vitae or professional resume
- Names and contact information for three professional references
- (Optional) Evidence of teaching effectiveness, such as student evaluations or a sample syllabus
