About The Role

This is a full-time Permanent position.

The School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Lecturer to join the Community and District Nursing team. The primary focus of this role will be to support the delivery and ongoing development of the Specialist Practice Qualification (SPQ) District Nursing programme.

The post holder will contribute to teaching across community nursing modules that are delivered in partnership with the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) programme, supporting shared learning and interprofessional collaboration. In addition, the role will involve contributing to teaching and student support across the Department of Nursing within a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing professional development modules.

The successful candidate will contribute to high quality teaching, assessment, curriculum development and student supervision. The role requires strong clinical credibility within district nursing practice and the ability to support registered nurses undertaking specialist roles within community healthcare settings. The post holder will work collaboratively with academic colleagues, practice partners and professional bodies to ensure programmes meet regulatory, professional and workforce requirements across Wales.

Welsh Language Skills

The Welsh language level required for this role is Level 1 - A little. The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh (good morning/afternoon) and use very basic everyday words and phrases (thank you, please etc.). Level 1 can be reached by completing a 1 hour course.
