About the opportunity:

Are you passionate about shaping the future of nursing education? The University of Canberra is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Lecturer in Nursing to join our Faculty of Health. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality teaching, student support, and academic service in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Reporting to the Discipline Lead, Nursing, you will play a key role in delivering and evaluating undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programs. With support from senior staff, you’ll engage in a wide range of academic activities that foster student success and contribute to the growth of the discipline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, deliver, and evaluate course materials for undergraduate and postgraduate programs
  • Prepare and lead lectures, seminars, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, and workshops
  • Provide pastoral care and academic support to students
  • Communicate effectively with staff, including sessional team members
  • Conduct marking and assessment activities
  • Undertake administrative duties relevant to the position
  • Participate in professional activities and contribute to the University community
  • Attend School and Faculty meetings and serve on committees as appropriate

Requirements:

  • A PhD in Nursing is preferred; candidates currently undertaking doctoral studies are also encouraged to apply
  • Unconditional registration with AHPRA as a Nurse in Australia
