The School of Medical and Health Sciences is home to teaching and research in Medical and Biomedical Sciences, Allied Health, and Exercise and Sports Sciences, as well as in Public, Occupational and Environmental Health. Our world-class research is rapidly translated to provide solutions to some of the key health issues facing our community.
About the Opportunity
The ECU Occupational Therapy program is delivered in modern, state of the art facilities on the Joondalup campus of the university. Occupational Therapy is part of the Allied Health Discipline, including Speech Pathology, Paramedicine and Dietetics. We are looking for a dynamic occupational therapist with the relevant clinical and teaching experience to join our team as a Lecturer. The appointee will be an important member of the Occupational Therapy team and will participate in the discipline’s undergraduate program, teaching, research and scholarly activities.
About you
Lecturers are subject experts who design, develop, and deliver educational material using a range of methods and platforms. They create course and teaching material and lesson plans in order to engage with students and to facilitate their learning. A lecturer is expected to make a significant contribution to teaching and learning practice within the program as well as the research profile as part of a highly experienced teaching team at ECU.

A lecturer is expected to make a significant contribution to teaching and learning practice within the program as well as the research profile as part of a highly experienced teaching team at ECU.
The successful candidate will need to:
- Be eligible to be a Registered Occupational Therapist with the OT Board of Ahpra and have at least 5-years postgraduate experience.
- Have prior experience in the development and delivery of research-informed teaching in tertiary education and/or within an occupational therapy or related context.
- Have a developing research track record, including research outputs.
- Have a demonstrated ability to collaborate with community stakeholders including those from industry and with lived experience.
- High a high degree of interpersonal skills, including teamwork and leadership, communication and negotiating skills.
- Have a completed PhD or current enrolment in a higher degree by research in a relevant field will be highly regarded but is not essential. However, the successful applicant should demonstrate a willingness to undertake a higher degree by research as part of their career development.
