Job Description:
Binghamton University's Cinema Department develops artists and creative thinkers who are willing to explore the experimental. A strong history of underground and independent production has made our trailblazing department an antidote to the Hollywood industry model.
We invite applicants for a Lecturer of Film Studies position. We seek applicants with a demonstrated record of teaching excellence to teach our introductory survey course about cinema and a course in the candidate's areas that can contribute to our curriculum. Interdisciplinary, global and cross-cultural perspectives are highly encouraged.
This is a full-time lecturer position (non-tenure track) for a term of one year, with the possibility of renewal for up to three years. The teaching load will be 3/3.
Requirements:
- PhD in cinema and media studies or a related field by August 17, 2026
- Experience teaching at the college level
