Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of Microbiology in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology with a preferred start date of August 2026. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
- This position will be primarily responsible for teaching an introductory microbiology course (BIOL 2260) and its laboratory (BIOL 2260L). A secondary teaching focus will be the undergraduate introductory biology lecture and lab courses (BIOL 1107 and 1107L).
- Other teaching responsibilities may include other undergraduate biology courses as needed by the department.
- Participation in professional service within the Department, the College of Science and Mathematics, the University, and beyond is expected.
- This position will provide learning opportunities and practices that nurture growth and respect for all voices in our extensive student population.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- An earned Master's or Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Biology, or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.
- Must have taken upper level coursework, preferably graduate coursework, in the field of microbiology.
Preferred Qualifications
- A record of exemplary teaching at the university level as evidenced by student and peer evaluations.
- Experience with course development and active learning strategies
- Experience teaching online or hybrid courses.
