Position Description
- Teaching courses including applied/collaborative piano and related areas
- Performing as a collaborative pianist and supervising student pianists in their collaborative work (including graduate assistants)
- Service, including participation in university and/or departmental committees, activity in professional organizations, coordinating/administrative responsibilities for collaborative piano area, recruitment, and educational or creative activities that contribute to an active portfolio as a collaborative pianist and pedagogue.
Required Experience
Minimum 3 years experience as a collaborative pianist working with both singers and instrumentalists required
Required Education
Master’s degree in piano performance or collaborative piano required; doctoral degree in collaborative piano preferred
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
- Minimum 3 years teaching experience in higher education preferred
- Demonstrated excellence as a collaborative pianist and pedagogue, including performing in professional venues such as concert series and recitals and/or with professional ensembles (chamber, orchestral, new music, etc.) preferred
- A record of successful recruitment of collaborative piano students is preferred
