About the Team:
This role sits within the Allied Health Program within the College of Sport, Health, and Engineering. The mission of the Allied Health program at Victoria University is to enhance health and quality of life through discovery, dissemination, and application of evidence-based knowledge regarding relevant health disciplines. This mission will be achieved through empowering students from diverse countries and cultures, socioeconomic and educational backgrounds, to be successful lifelong learners, grow their skills and capabilities for the changing world of work. Students will grow to be confident, creative, ethical, and respectful, local and global citizens. The operations of the Allied Health disciplines and this position are currently located at the Footscray Park Campus of the University though this position may be relocated to any other existing or future University work location. It is expected that staff travel to various campuses for meetings, teaching classes and other required activities as necessary.
About the Role:
The overall purpose of the lecturer/ senior lecturer in social work position is to contribute to the Social Work discipline at Victoria University. The lecturer/senior lecturer will achieve this through undertaking innovative and student-centred teaching practice, be an active researcher as well as contribute to the social work team through initiatives that further strengthen the discipline of social work at Victoria University.
Position Key Duties
Duties will include:
Preparing and delivering teaching and learning materials relevant to social work
Contributing to research and scholarship relevant to social work
Leading projects and working with colleagues in the social work team
Salary: Academic Level B $113,221 - $134,449 or Level C $138,695 - $159,922 per annum plus 17% superannuation
Employment Type: Full-time continuing role
Hours: 36.75 hours per week
Location:The position is located at our Footscray Park Campus, right across the road from the site of the new Footscray Hospital**.

About You:
You will be eligible for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), have completed post graduate studies in a relevant field and have demonstrable experience in teaching and learning in higher education. You will be able to undertake research relevant to social work with a scholarly profile commensurate to the level (level B or senior lecturer C).
The University is a Child Safe organisation. You will be required to hold a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or be willing to obtain one prior to commencing employment.
