Lecturer (SEM)
Position Summary
The instructor will be responsible for teaching ANMLTEC 3151T: Horse Breeding, a three-credit hour course with five contact hours per week. This course provides students with practical and theoretical knowledge of equine reproductive management, breeding program design, and genetic selection principles. Emphasis is placed on applied techniques used in mare and stallion reproductive management, including breeding soundness evaluation, assisted reproductive technologies, and recordkeeping systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver weekly lectures and laboratory sessions, ensuring content is current and industry-relevant.
- Develop and administer assignments, assessments, and other instructional materials.
- Provide hands-on instruction in equine breeding management and reproductive techniques.
- Maintain accurate student records and submit grades in accordance with institutional policies.
- Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and division leadership.
- Collaborate with the Division Chair and other faculty to ensure alignment with program outcomes and student learning objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong background in equine reproductive management and breeding practices.
- Previous teaching experience at the collegiate level.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex reproductive and genetic concepts effectively to undergraduate students.
