About the position
The Lecturer role requires the development, coordination and teaching of a high-quality learning experience that engages students through the conduct of various class types. The role requires the conduct of high impact research as a member of a team or independently and produce conference/seminar papers and publications from that research.
The Senior Lecturer position furthers these responsibilities, by providing leadership and mentoring to others in subject or course level curriculum design and the development and delivery of teaching. The entails supervising Higher Degree by Research (HDR), Honours and postgraduate students.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have
- Completion of a PhD in a relevant field or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised by the University/profession as appropriate for the relevant discipline area; completion of a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education, or similar qualification/training, would be an advantage.
- A Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Health), Bachelor of Health Science (Public and Environmental Health), Bachelor of Public Health (Environmental Health) or equivalent which is accredited by Environmental Health Australia and be eligible for membership of Environmental Health Australia (EHA).
- Discipline expertise in environmental health; broader public health expertise (for example, health policy and law, and population approaches) would be an advantage.
- Demonstrated competence in environmental health teaching and curriculum development.
- Evidence of high quality and/or high impact research conducted and published or otherwise disseminated, relative to opportunity.
- Demonstrated record of achievement as a leading practitioner with a reputation for skills, knowledge and expertise at a state/national level.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, or co-supervise, honours and postgraduate students.
Additional Criteria for Senior Lecturer
- Demonstrated capacity to provide leadership at course/program/research group or similar level.
- Strong record of research publication, with appropriate evidence of quality and impact.
