As a Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow in Indigenous Health Equity, you'll play a crucial role in improving support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families. You'll contribute to a program of research within an Aboriginal-led interdisciplinary team, focusing on developing a maternity service data dashboard related to child protection. This position offers you the opportunity to work collaboratively in a culturally safe environment, while furthering your research skills and contributing to the Indigenous health research workforce.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct Data-Driven Research: Collect, manage, and analyse data to establish a maternity service data dashboard related to child protection notifications and health service data.
- Collaborate and Engage: Work with consortium partners and stakeholders to provide high-quality technical advice and support in a culturally safe manner.
- Contribute to Knowledge Generation: Produce high-quality academic outputs, present at conferences, and engage in knowledge translation activities.
- Support Project Management: Oversee research activities, including protocol preparation, compliance with regulatory requirements, and data management.
You may be a great fit if: You are a passionate researcher with a PhD in a relevant field, experienced in supporting academic research and working with families or in social and emotional wellbeing, with strong communication skills and a commitment to improving Indigenous health outcomes.
You may also: Hold a PhD in epidemiology, health, allied health, quantitative social science, or related disciplines. Have experience in quantitative data collection, management, and analysis. Possess strong project management skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Demonstrate experience or understanding of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Have an emerging or established track record in publications and successful grant funding. Be of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent (desirable).
