The University of Lincoln is seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior in Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) to join the Office for Executive Education and Skills (School of Defence, Security and Executive Education). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing portfolio of defence and executive education programmes within a dynamic, sector-responsive environment.

You will play a key role in delivering and developing high-quality teaching, with a particular focus on the MSc Innovation in Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance programme. You will act as Programme Leader for this provision, lead modules and short courses, and work closely with defence and industry partners to co-create innovative educational opportunities.

We are looking for an enthusiastic academic who combines subject expertise in ISR (or a closely related discipline) with a commitment to innovative, work-based and blended learning approaches.

As a Lecturer you will contribute to curriculum development, support students through academic tutoring, and engage in scholarly and/or professional practice activity that enhances both the programme and the University’s profile.

As a Senior Lecturer you will also take responsibility for the design, content and delivery of this area of teaching, and for the quality of teaching delivered.

You will collaborate with colleagues across the University and externally, contributing to business development activity, short course design, and partnership working with defence and industry stakeholders. The ability to inspire learners, demonstrate academic credibility, and operate confidently in professional environments is essential.

Applicants should hold a relevant masters degree and be working towards or have completed a PhD (or demonstrate equivalent professional standing). Experience in Higher Education teaching or significant relevant professional experience is desirable. A commitment to completing a recognised HE teaching qualification (if not already held) is required.

This role requires flexibility, resilience, and the ability to travel for partner engagement and teaching activity. The ability to obtain appropriate security clearance (BPSS/UKSV) is essential.
