Main duties and responsibilities

The European Research Council (ERC) funded JUSTICE Programme is a six-year multi-institution project to explore and adapt law enforcement investigative practice in countries across the world. As a part of this project De Montfort University is recruiting three (one full-time, two part-time) research fellows for the duration of the project. They will work on a range of activities including planning, preparing and undertaking research on investigative practices, and subsequently disseminating research outcomes.

Faculty

Based in the £35 million Hugh Aston building, the Faculty of Business and Law is a truly global community of more than 8,000 students from more than 100 nationalities. State-of-the-art study facilities include a finance trading floor, mock and real courtrooms, computer laboratories, dedicated PGR facilities along with study and breakout areas. With a strong emphasis on employability, the business and law programmes offer students an opportunity to undertake a placement, internships and live projects. The faculty also boasts strong links with professional bodies such as ACCA, CIMA, CIM and CIPD, offering recognition and significant exemptions from professional courses across a wide range of subject areas. With over 200 members and affiliates, we work closely with both industry and communities locally and nationally.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be an early career researcher with a doctoral level qualification (or have submitted doctoral work for examination) in a discipline relevant to the project; criminology, policing, law, organizational behaviour, psychology, etc. You will have experience in planning, conducting and disseminating high quality research working alongside teams as well as independently. You will also have specialist skills which will fit within a wider research team, these might be from a range of areas specified in the Person Specification document.
