About the role
The UCL School of Management is looking to appoint a full-time Lecturer (Teaching) within the accounting/finance arena, drawing upon financial accounting and/or management accounting and/or financial management, and/or related fields. More specifically, the School is seeking a postholder with a record of accomplishments in teaching accounting/finance to business and management students.
Depending upon a successful applicant’s profile, opportunities exist to engage with in-person and/or online modules at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels through delivery and assessment. Please note that:
- This is a post on the Teaching track/Education and is not an academic research track post.
- A doctorate in the area of accounting/finance or a related field is essential.
- The application should consist of a 1-page cover letter/personal statement, a mapping against the Person Specification, and a CV. Please do NOT attach any published articles or working papers, or additional documents such as degree certificates.
- Within the 1-page cover letter/personal statement, applicants should highlight experience and achievements in the area of education and the cognate area of accounting/finance.
Interviews for this position will take place on Tuesday, 23 September 2025.
Salary – UCL Grade 8 £54,172 - £62,035 pa (including London allowance) Competitive salary (includes Market Supplements on top of basic salary listed above).
About you
The successful candidate will possess solid knowledge of theory and practice in a disciplinary area related to financial accounting, management accounting, financial management, or a closely related field. They will hold a relevant PhD or equivalent Doctorate and demonstrate experience in teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate students, both in-person and online.
A proven ability to design interactive, experiential, and inclusive learning activities is essential, along with the capability to engage students from diverse disciplinary and cultural backgrounds. The candidate will also have a track record of excellent teaching evaluations and the ability to maintain strong student feedback through reflective and responsive teaching practice.
