Lecturer/Teaching Professor
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include teaching introductory chemistry courses, primarily Introduction to General, Organic, and Biochemistry I and II; and service responsibilities, such as support for departmental curriculum / pedagogy development and serving on department and university committees. Additional duties could include serving as the coordinator of introductory courses or teaching in other chemistry or biochemistry courses. The successful candidate is also required to provide service to the institution and profession.
Minimum Experience / Education:
UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned masters and/or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Preferred qualifications include at least one year of experience teaching introductory chemistry courses and experience in curriculum/pedagogy development. We especially welcome applicants with experience and interest in utilizing evidence-based scientific teaching and learning practices to foster student success in general education and introductory chemistry courses.
