"Lecturers Part-Time, English - 2026-27"

Position Description

The English Department is now accepting applications for Part Time Lecturers for the 2026-2027 academic year. These positions are non-tenure eligible with a 9-month service period (September 16 – June 15) and an anticipated start date of September 16, 2026. Appointments are determined by program need, available funding, and the eligible pool of candidates. Positive factors for consideration include, but are not limited to, prior teaching experience in a UW Writing Program. We will assemble a pool of qualified candidates in April 2026 and anticipate making offers as soon as possible. After initial offers are made in the spring and/or summer, additional hires, quarters and courses may be added depending on available funding.

Duties: The duties will include teaching courses in the Program in Writing & Rhetoric (PWR), the Program for Writing Across Campus (PWAC), upper division English literature and language courses, and/or creative writing courses.

Salary: The full-time base salary range for this position will be $7,242 - $7,967 per month, prorated based on the appointment FTE, and commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
