About the Role:

We are seeking a Librarian to join our innovative and collaborative Research Services team at Curtin University Library. In this role you will support the implementation of the University’s new researcher profiles and discovery service to ensure that Curtin’s research outputs, profiles, and information are accurate, visible, and effectively managed.

This role would suit someone who enjoys helping others, investigating possibilities, and working collaboratively to establish and improve services with a good understanding of the academic research environment.

This is an ongoing part time (0.6FTE) role, with a commitment of 22.5 hours per week. The working days and schedule are flexible and will be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the implementation, configuration and ongoing user support of Discovery Profiles, including contributing to requirements gathering and stakeholder engagement.
  • Liaising with academic and professional staff to promote the uptake of Discovery Profiles and provide guidance on profile management, research visibility and data accuracy.
  • Contributing to the University’s strategic research priorities through the delivery of services to support publishing advice, bibliometrics, research data management, bibliometrics and research skills development.
  • Assisting in the delivery of in-person and online research skills programs that enhance graduate capabilities and researcher effectiveness.

Who we are looking for (selection criteria):

  • A professional qualification in librarianship recognised for associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association, supported by relevant work experience.
  • Strong attention to detail, with well-developed analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret, assess, and apply technical and procedural documentation, with experience contributing to the development and improvement of process and support materials.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within and across teams, engaging with colleagues from diverse backgrounds to achieve shared objectives.
  • Capacity to quickly learn new systems, adapt to changing workflows, and respond flexibly in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals and groups.
  • Strong time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage competing demands.
  • A proactive and innovative mindset, with a solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.

Role Requirements:

  1. As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered
