Life Science Research Professional 1
The Monack lab in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Stanford University is seeking a Life Science Research Professional 1 (LSRP 1). The LSRP1 will perform basic lab functions, will independently conduct and analyze experiments, and will assist other lab members with related projects.
Our research focuses on the understanding of Salmonella-host interactions, including macrophage infections and chronic mouse infections. We study how intracellular Salmonella manipulates macrophages to persist in mammalian hosts. In addition, we are characterizing the cellular composition and responses of granulomas during chronic Salmonella infections in mice. The LSRP1 will work on a project studying the role of Salmonella virulence factors and of eosinophils in granuloma maintenance. Our lab is highly interdisciplinary, incorporating approaches from bacterial genetics and cell biology, genomics, metagenomics, confocal microscopy, mouse models, and pathogen evolution.
