Job Description
The Department of Medicine of the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC), located in Baltimore, MD, are recruiting for a mid- to senior-level academically oriented hematologist/oncologist with a record of original clinical research, and exceptional clinical and educational skills for a clinical position with a focus in lymphoma.
The essential functions of the position include inpatient/outpatient consultations and longitudinal patient care. Unique opportunities exist for collaborations between clinical and research programs, clinical trials research, cancer chemoprevention, clinical and basic pharmacology, novel cell therapy constructs, and participation in a broad range of teaching initiatives with medical students, house staff, and fellows. Active participation in clinical research is expected.
Expected rank is Assistant Professor or higher, however, rank and tenure status is dependent on selected candidate's qualifications. The expected salary range for Assistant Professors is $190,260 (min) and $401,205 (max). The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the departmental faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental variable compensation programs. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein.

Qualifications
Candidates with a strong interest in and/or published literature relating to conducting clinical/translational research are preferred. Interaction with basic and translational scientists is strongly encouraged. Furthermore, candidates must possess an M.D. or D.O. degree and must be board certified or board-eligible by the ABIM in Internal Medicine and hematology and/or medical oncology and be eligible for a medical license in Maryland.
