The Management Technician serves as a key analytical and program-support position within the Proposed College of Osteopathic Medicine (IUPCOM). Reporting to the Founding Dean, this role focuses on data analysis, program coordination, fiscal and operational monitoring, and process improvement. This position supports leadership by preparing analyses, tracking information, coordinating data, and developing recommendations within established policies.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Program & Operational Support

  • Support program operations by monitoring processes, tracking timelines, and compiling information for leadership review.
  • Assist with implementation of operational initiatives by coordinating data, documentation, and follow-up activities.
  • Analyze workflows and procedures and recommend improvements.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Collect, analyze, reconcile, and interpret financial, operational, and programmatic data.
  • Develop and maintain tracking tools, dashboards, and reports to support leadership decision-making.
  • Review data for accuracy, consistency, reliability, and compliance with established parameters.
  • Prepare analytical summaries and reports presenting findings, trends, and alternative approaches.

Fiscal & Resource Monitoring

  • Analyze budgetary and expenditure data; identify discrepancies and trends for leadership review.
  • Assist with fiscal monitoring related to grants, contracts, accreditation activities, and program operations.

Accreditation & Compliance Support

  • Assist with data collection, validation, and compilation for accreditation and regulatory reporting.
  • Track requirements, deadlines, and documentation status for accreditation-related activities.
  • Compile materials and reports for leadership review.

Technology & Systems Coordination

  • Provide technical and analytical support related to information systems used for program administration.
  • Assist in identifying system requirements and developing requests for technology resources.
  • Provide training or guidance to staff on the use of management-related data systems and reporting tools.

Surveys, Studies, & Process Reviews

  • Conduct limited-scope surveys, reviews, or studies using prescribed objectives and methodologies.
  • Determine data requirements, sources, and parameters; schedule and coordinate data collection.
  • Design forms or questionnaires to solicit program-related information.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to resolve incomplete, inconsistent, or atypical data.

This role is best suited for someone who can comfortably handle a variety of tasks and make thoughtful, timely decisions to keep things moving smoothly for everyone involved. You’ll often assist students, faculty, and guests with different needs as they come up, so being able to jump in and help right away is important. You’ll also be trusted to find practical solutions to problems on your own. Since the job involves juggling different responsibilities, it’s important to be able to organize your work, set priorities, and prioritize deadlines based on what’s most urgent and important.

Position Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • Three years of advanced clerical or paraprofessional work which included the collection, recording, compilation, and presentation of office management or program related information.

or

  • An Associate's Degree may be substituted for two years of required experience.

PREFERRED:

  • Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft, Banner, and comfort working at databases.
  • 1-3 years relevant work in an academic setting with clerical work.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Candidates must communicate effectively and perform well in the interview(s).
  • Candidates must have communication skills and cross-cultural abilities to maximize their effectiveness with diverse groups of students, colleagues, and community members.

The salary for this position is determined by the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement.
