Remuneration: $169,373 to $189,440 pa (HEW10) (inclusive of $143,122 to $160,079 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)

Location: Gardens Point (hybrid option available)

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Manager, Carumba Institute to join Carumba Institute, Education Portfolio, Academic Division.

Indigenous research and educational environment that enhances Black Knowing for real world research impact, foregrounding Indigenous sovereignty, and centring an Indigenous humanity. The Manager, Carumba Institute provides high level executive management support, policy and strategic advice to the Executive Director of the Carumba Institute to enhance and facilitate the achievement of Carumba’s core objectives relating to research, teaching and learning, student support and other service responsibilities across the university.

What you need to succeed

  1. Education, training and/or experience equivalent to postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience.
  2. Proven research and analytical skills for investigating issues, interpreting trends, policies and practices, and providing recommendations and advice.
  3. Excellent oral and written communication skills to establish and develop effective relationships and prepare various communication materials for the Executive Director.
  4. Highly developed interpersonal skills for communicating with internal and external stakeholders in order to effectively promote the views and policies of the Carumba Institute, while also demonstrating respect for sensitivity and confidentiality of issues.
  5. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage the office of a senior executive as well as demonstrated experience in complex relationship management and handling of associated risks.
  6. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Higher Education sector in Australia and related public policy matters in relation to Indigenous research, student support and teaching and learning.
  7. Proven effective leadership and management skills that drive, high performing teams and excellence in service provision.
