Mathematics Instructor FT Temporary Fall 2026 Semester
Job Description
The Mathematics department is seeking a diverse individual with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching who can teach a variety of courses within the department from Developmental Mathematics to Differential Equations. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the Math Instructor is expected to be dedicated to students' learning and success. Instructor must be able to travel between the college's two campuses and other sites.
This position requires a wide range of professional responsibilities and activities, including participation in curriculum and course development, departmental planning, attendance at department and college meetings, participation on department and Governance committees, student advising, and other duties as assigned.
This instructor will be expected to participate in College and Departmental assessment initiatives.
Teaching assignments may be on the Middletown or Newburgh campus or both.
Job Requirements:
Education Required: Master's Degree in Pure or Applied Mathematics
Experience Required: College-level teaching experience and knowledge of current instructional technologies; excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:
- Involvement in student support activities such as advising and club supervision
- Experience in online teaching in both asynchronous and synchronous formats with demonstrated evidence of student engagement
- Experience with D2L Brightspace or other comparable learning platform
- Community college teaching experience
- Ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with supervising personnel, co-workers, all college employees, and the public
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Experience with inclusive and/or culturally responsive pedagogy
- Bilingual skills.

Position is for Fall 2026 semester only with the possibility of reappointment for Spring 2027. Position begins August 19, 2026.
Salary: $63,981 per the faculty contract. This is a 10 month Faculty position.
