UCI's Department of Emergency Medicine is committed to advancing clinical care, education and research to help patients with diverse emergency conditions. We offer patient-centered care, apply cutting edge skills to combat serious illness and injury. In addition, our physicians conduct innovative research aimed at preventing injury and disease.
Works under the supervision of the department CAO, of the Program Director and Assistant Program Director for the UCI Department of Emergency Medicine 630D Clerkship Program, 627A Ultrasound Elective, Wilderness Medicine Elective, Residency Program, and other student programs. Assumes responsibilities for all administrative aspects of the programs, including coordinating rotations of trainees to optimize educational experiences, coordinating and organizing online evaluation systems, working with the Program Director and Faculty members to organize and run the conference schedules, and preparing and maintaining written minutes for trainee and Faculty meetings. Serves as the primary contact person to help administer logistical and other programmatic activities for students and is responsible for ensuring organized documentation of the program activities as required by the UCI Medical Education Department. With supervision, maintains the budget for all expenses related to the programs. Is responsible for organizing the annual recruitment process for candidates applying to the programs, helps to maintain the informational website, maintains and stores contracts for trainees, and organizes orientation activities for new trainees.
Required: Basic knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Basic knowledge of health education industry. Basic knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Acquiring skills in developing and implementing processes and systems. Familiarity with the administrative and operational implications in a program. Communication skills; includes verbal, written and active listening. Service oriented and responsive to questions and requests. Ability to interact in a professional, resourceful, and courteous manner. Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships within department and with learners. Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to work with extremely complex faculty calendars / schedules requires extremely well organized and detail oriented precision. Knowledge of educational technology and systems. Ability to troubleshoot and triages related technology issues. Investigative, data analysis, and reporting skills. Ability to generate computer reports, checking for errors, correcting and submitting accurate reports. Skills include entering, maintaining, extracting, and analyzing data in electronic systems. Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
