"Medical Terminology Instructor - Cape Cod Community College"

General Statement of Responsibilities

Provide instruction for the Medical Terminology (BST103) course that serves students in both the Health Sciences programs (Medical Assisting and Diagnostic Technician) and the Business Technology programs (Medical Coding & Billing and Medical Administrative Assistants) for the Fall 2025 semester. This is the gateway course for several programs and is offered on-campus.

Examples of Duties

1. Provide on campus instruction utilizing educational technologies.
2. Select and develop appropriate materials for class use to fulfill course learning outcomes.
3. Track and assess student progress.
4. Maintain appropriate attendance and learner records.
5. Participate in ongoing professional development.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in a health science, or a closely related field.
2. Effective pedagogical, teaching, and presentation skills.
3. Experience using evidence-based strategies to support student success including frequent communication and active learning.
4. Experience in the medical field.
5. Ability to create a classroom environment that engages students and supports learning.
6. Skill in using technology to support the writing, teaching, and learning processes.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

1. Master's degree in Business or Nursing Education or a related field.
2. College-level teaching experience.
3. Professional development in teaching at the community college level.
4. Skill using MOODLE to support student learning.

Additional Information

Compensation: Anticipated starting salary - Step 1 DCE pay scale. Part-time, non-benefitted MCCC/DCE Unit position.
