MIS Lecturer
Job Summary
The Department of Management Information Systems in the College of Business and Technology (CoBT) at Georgia College & State University (GCSU) invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Lecturer position beginning August 1, 2026. This is a renewable appointment. Georgia College is the state's designated public liberal arts university, and the successful candidate will join a department committed to high-quality undergraduate teaching within a liberal arts environment.
Responsibilities
Lecturer 10 month Academic Year
The Lecturer will teach a 4/4 course load (four courses in fall and four courses in spring) supporting core Information Systems courses within the CoBT curriculum. The position also includes teaching in the Georgia College First-Year Experience (GC1Y) and Second-Year Experience (GC2Y) programs. Additional responsibilities include participation in departmental and college service activities, contributing to curriculum development and continuous improvement efforts, and including AACSB accreditation maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Information Systems or a closely related field from an accredited institution
- Evidence of or potential for excellence in teaching
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to undergraduate education within a liberal arts context
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Information Systems or a closely related field
- Prior college-level teaching experience in Information Systems or related courses
- Experience with first-year or second-year experience programming
- Professional or industry experience in Information Systems or a related area
- Familiarity with AACSB accreditation standards
Proposed Salary
Minimum $63,000.00 to Maximum $65,000.00
