Network Operations Analyst
Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to support all Network Engineering functions, including cables, switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, tools, and other hardware. The Network Analyst is also responsible for monitoring day-to-day networks and systems and performs adds/moves/change requests on the Data Network, including VLAN changes, cross-connects, and new switch deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for day-to-day asset and configuration management activities related to the data network.
- Coordinate with Telecom Staff on new wiring adds/moves/changes and in the identification of wiring that needs repair.
- Provide Level 2 support for Network Services Group (NSG). Coordinate with campus technical staff and CENIC staff to troubleshoot local and wide-area problems.
- Develop skills in leading-edge network technology.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical individuals within a culturally diverse campus environment. Maintains a professional demeanor. Maintains IT professional standards of anonymity for data that reside on campus servers and computer systems. Maintains confidentiality of all information. Attend and participate in departmental and team meetings.
