Neuromuscular Nuerologist - Assistant Professor

The Department of Neurology at the University of Minnesota and UMPhysicians is recruiting a full-time neuromuscular neurologist. We are seeking a neuromuscular medicine-certified physician with a strong academic focus.
Position Duties/Responsibilities:
- The position requires a substantial role in seeing a diverse spectrum of neuromuscular patients interested in training medical students, residents and fellows.
- As part of a multi-disciplinary team, this position will provide outpatient neuromuscular services on the University campus and community clinics, including the following:
- Disease-state focused clinics, to include multidisciplinary clinics
- General neuromuscular clinic
- EMG
- Limited inpatient call coverage is expected.
- Opportunities to supervise and train medical students, residents and fellows
- Expectation to collaborate with basic scientists at the University of Minnesota on translational research
- Opportunities to lead clinical research and trials
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Neurology residency training program and Board Certified or Board Prepared with the American Board of Medical Specialties or American Osteopathic Association
- ABMS certification or eligibility for certification in Neuromuscular Medicine
- Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure
- Ability to obtain and / or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota
- Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
- Excellent teaching and interpersonal skills

Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: This role is dually employed by the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians. Salary at the University of Minnesota is dependent upon academic effort of the person hired, and begins at $55,000. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through the University of Minnesota Physicians. Total salary is competitive with market and based on AAMC salary benchmarks.
