Neuropsychologist - Multilingual (Academic Rank DOQ)

Position Summary

The Munroe-Meyer Institute (MMI) for Genetics and Rehabilitation at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha is currently accepting applications for a multilingual faculty position in the Department of Psychology as Neuropsychologist (Academic Rank DOQ). Minimum requirements are a doctoral degree in Clinical, School, or Counseling Psychology with training and experience in neuropsychological assessment and research. Applicant must have Nebraska licensure (or license eligible) while board certification (ABPP) is also valued. Candidates with a clinical internship from APA/CPA-accredited programs in psychology are preferred.

This faculty position would be tasked with developing a program around neuropsychological services for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities including:

  1. Neuropsychological assessment and diagnostics
  2. Clinical training in neuropsychology for predoctoral interns and postdoctoral fellows
  3. A program of clinical research.

In addition, this position would be tasked with developing a program that uses practice extenders or psychometrists to provide direct testing, reserving the licensed psychologist for diagnostics and interpretation, training, and research. All of the above duties require applicants to be multilingual.

Clinical referrals come from schools, physicians, and community agencies throughout the region. Typical presenting concerns include brain tumor and treatment, TBI/concussion, epilepsy and other seizure disorders, and genetic and other developmental disorders. Institute-based coordination of clinical care and interdisciplinary research is provided.

See UNMC–MMI Psychology website for more information about the program.

About MMI Psychology

The department of Psychology at the MMI is a collegial group of clinical educators and researchers dedicated to integrating training and research within clinical service delivery in a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary setting. Department faculty play a vital role in education and training, providing clinical supervision through a large, well-funded internship program within the APA-accredited Nebraska Internship Consortium, as well as a growing postdoctoral fellowship program. While the department is grounded in a behavioral orientation, it welcomes applicants with diverse but complementary theoretical perspectives. Several faculty also teach in the Applied Behavior Analysis master's degree program, which prepares graduates for licensure as mental health practitioners and certification as Board Certified Behavior Analysts. Faculty are encouraged to pursue clinical research that aligns with the department's mission, with flexibility in specific areas of focus.
