Job Description

Westchester Community College seeks a non-credit health adjunct to teach ECG and/or Phlebotomy Training courses. The incumbent may teach all or part of the lecture and laboratory practice training. They are responsible for the comprehensive course instruction within specified program areas, creating a course outline and syllabus, presenting class lectures and educational demonstrations, preparing course benchmarks (such as quizzes and exams) and maintaining student grades/attendance reports.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.
• A minimum of one year of employment in a healthcare facility, including a minimum of 1 year in an ambulatory healthcare setting performing clinical procedures required.
• Practical occupational experience in ECG and Phlebotomy also required.
• The demonstrated competency to teach adult learners, experience working with diverse populations, and demonstrated knowledge of internet navigation, email and computer skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications

• A minimum of three years of employment in a healthcare facility is strongly preferred.
• Additional preferred credentials include certification as a Phlebotomist, EKG Tech, Medical Assistant and Registered Nurse, RN.

Additional Information

Hourly Rate of Pay: $55.61 per hour. No benefits.
