Non-Credit Instructor - General Nursing Skills
Job Details
The Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning Department of Middlesex College invites applications for part-time, non-credit instructors to teach the following course:
- General Nursing Skills
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The ability to teach 25 hours (5 days a week for 5 hours/day in person), which includes but not limited to the following subject areas:
- Personal hygiene; vital signs; activities of daily living; infection control
- Anatomy and Physiology
- Patient Safety
- Preparing student for industry certification as Patient Care Technician
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current registration as a NJ Licensed Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, or current certification as a Patient Care Technician
- Previous experience teaching adult learners
- Three (3) years of experience working in an in-patient environment
- Ability to teach in Edison, New Brunswick, or Perth Amboy
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience teaching in higher education
