Job Summary
The Data Science program welcomes applications for an Online Programs Learning Facilitator! The online and asynchronous Master of Science in Data Science (MS-DS) and at the University of Colorado Boulder are innovative programs offering a rigorous curriculum and flexible learning model to a global population. The Data Science program is seeking a candidate who is passionate about accessible education and delivering a high quality online learning experience for students.
The Online Programs Learning Facilitator assists the online MS-DS degree program by providing course-specific individual or group student support and tutoring during office hours and facilitating student interactions within a virtual learning environment. This role is responsible for curriculum review and management, updates to existing digital course materials in coordination with course faculty, collaborating closely with Coursera representatives to mitigate issues related to the LMS, and grading assignments. Experience working with a non-traditional and global population of mid- or senior-level professionals is a plus. This role interfaces regularly with Coursera and department team members.

Data Science is interdisciplinary in nature, drawing on the fields of statistics, applied mathematics, data science, computer science, information science, geospatial analytics, natural language processing, business analytics and more.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Course Delivery:
- Holds regular online office hours with MS-DS students.
- Actively monitors and engages with student discussion forums via Coursera or on Slack.
- Serves as first point-of-contact for current students with course-related questions or concerns.
Learner Feedback and Grading:
- Monitors Salesforce, ensuring tickets are managed and resolved.
- Grades peer review assignments as needed and provides detailed feedback to students.
Course Improvement:
- Reviews course content for accuracy and consistency.
- Provides clear and actionable feedback on continuous improvement of course content and assessments.
Administrative and Other Duties:
- Collaborates with other DS department staff to ensure course information on the graduate program websites is accurate and up-to-date.
- Supervise student course facilitators.
