Job Summary
The online and asynchronous Masters of Computer Science (MS-CS) and Masters of Artificial Intelligence (MS-AI) programs at the University of Colorado Boulder are innovative programs offering a rigorous curriculum and flexible learning model to a global population. The Computer Science department is seeking a candidate who is passionate about accessible education and delivering a high quality online learning experience for students. The Online Programs Learning Facilitator assists the online MS-CS and MS-AI degree programs by providing course-specific individual or group student support and tutoring during office hours and facilitating student interactions within a virtual learning environment. This role is responsible for curriculum review and management, updates to existing digital course materials in coordination with course faculty, liaising with Coursera representatives to mitigate issues related to the LMS, and grading assignments. Experience working with a non-traditional and global population of mid- or senior-level professionals is a plus. This role interfaces regularly with Coursera and department team members.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Course Delivery:
- Holds regular online office hours with MS-CS students.
- Actively monitors and engages with student discussion forums via Coursera or on Slack.
- Serves as first point-of-contact for current students with course-related questions or concerns. Assists students with problem-solving and campus resources.
- Sends out announcement messages, reminders, and instructions.
- Creates documents/ systems that can support a large group of students to scale.
- Develops and revises FAQs and help guides for each course.
- Communicates responsibly and respectfully.
- Manages part-time student workers (course facilitators) for additional course support, as needed.
Learner Feedback and Grading:
- Monitors Salesforce, ensuring tickets are managed and resolved.
- Manages cases of academic dishonesty and advances if needed.
- Conducts grade verification at the end of each session to ensure accurate grade reporting.
- Grades peer review assignments as needed and provides detailed feedback to students.
Course Improvement:
- Reviews course content for accuracy and consistency, including videos, readings, graded and ungraded assessments (including derivation, calculation, and some programming).
- Provides clear and actionable feedback on continuous improvement of course content and assessments.
- Updates course content as needed (in coordination with Learning Experience Designer and instructor).
Administrative and Other Duties:
- Collaborates with other CS department staff to ensure course information on the graduate program websites is accurate and up-to-date.
- Serves as the main point of contact for course information.
- May assist other program staff with webinars and other outreach efforts.
- Advocates for student services, specifically to create community within the online student population.
- Helps the CS graduate program with other projects, as needed.
- Undertakes other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Stays apprised and current on relevant University and State of Colorado policies and procedures.
- Participates in professional development activities and serves on unit, college or campus committees as applicable.
- Recommends and implements process improvements to increase department efficiency.
- Documents all processes and procedures making them accessible to team members.
What You Should Know
Normal business hours (i.e. 8:00 - 5:00, Monday-Friday) with some variability in the work hours due to the supported programs being fully online. This position may be eligible for hybrid work modality, consistent with the College of Engineering and Applied Science Hybrid Work Policy, and may be considered for fully remote work.
What We Can Offer
The starting salary range for this position is $80,000 - $85,000 annually. Relocation assistance is available within department guidelines.

What We Require
- Bachelors in Computer Science (or closely related field).
- 5 years experience (academic or industry) in subject matter expertise related to Computer Science, specifically in relation to the coursework listed in the MS-CS on Coursera Curriculum.
- Facilitation/teaching experience.

What We Would Like You to Have
- Masters in Computer Science (or closely related field).
- 3-5 years experience (academic or industry) in subject matter expertise related to Computer Science, specifically in relation to the coursework listed in the MS-CS on Coursera Curriculum "https://www.colorado.edu/cs/academics/online-programs/mscs-coursera/curriculum".
- Two to five years of experience mentoring or supporting graduate and/or adult learners.
- Background in teaching and learning, online education and/or computer science.
- Experience with global learners.
- Familiarity with the Coursera platform.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team and within a collaborative work environment.
- Strong organizational, planning, analytical, and technical skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to recognize cultural, political, and geographical differences, with ability to work well with faculty, staff, and students from around the world.
- Familiarity with the Coursera, Salesforce, and/or ProctorU platforms.
- Familiarity with software that may include web-based website creation/maintenance, video/image editing and cloud-based documents/spreadsheets.
- Experience with Java, Javascript, and/or Python.
- Ability to work in an environment that occasionally demands flexibility, including evening/weekend work.
