The Department of Accounting and Management Information Systems at The Ohio State University’s Max M. Fisher College of Business invites applications for up to two tenure-track faculty positions (open-rank) in Management Information Systems, starting Autumn 2026. The department is interested in hiring in any information system research area, including work in boundary spanning areas, and/or artificial intelligence (AI), broadly defined. Candidates who currently hold Associate Professor appointments, experienced Assistant Professors, and recently appointed Full Professors are strongly encouraged to apply.

Competitive candidates for a tenured position must have demonstrated success both in research and in the classroom with interest in teaching in areas related to Information Systems and should be able to provide evidence of their ability and achievements commensurate with the rank sought. Candidates seeking an appointment at the Assistant Professor rank should at minimum hold a Ph.D. in Information Systems or a related field at the time of appointment, provide evidence of an ability to conduct high-quality research, and demonstrate an exceptional promise for achievement in both research and teaching. All research areas in information systems, including work in boundary spanning areas, will be considered.

In accordance with the Colleges Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure, appointment as an Associate Professor (with tenure) requires that a candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Information Systems or closely related fields and demonstrate that they have attained potential for excellence in research, achievement in teaching, and rank-appropriate service. Appointment as a Full Professor (with tenure) requires demonstrated excellence in research, and sustained achievement in teaching and service.

The teaching load for research-active faculty is usually nine credit hours per year. Salary and research budget are highly competitive, with access to rich cross-disciplinary collaborative opportunities, multiple computing-related initiatives, world-class research infrastructure, and generous summer support based on research productivity.
