The Department of Pathology and Cell Biology at the Columbia University Medical Center seeks highly qualified individuals for faculty positions in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology and research. Appointments can be at the Assistant, Associate, Professor, or Associate Research Scientist level depending on experience and qualifications. All positions require outstanding academic credentials and a record of scholarly productivity.
Clinical positions require board certification or board eligibility and a NYS license. Research positions require record of publication in leading journals and a statement of research directions. A history of successful research funding is desirable.
Columbia University’s Department of Pathology and Cell Biology invites applications for a junior/senior level faculty position. Candidates should have a strong record of research and teaching qualifications (distinction). Candidates will be expected to sustain an active research and publication portfolio and supervise graduate students and fellows. Candidate will play a vital role in departmental activities.

Minimum Degree Required: M.S. in Genetic Counseling, Ph.D, M.D., or M.D./Ph.D.
Minimum Qualifications: Depending on the field of research and current needs for field and instructional coverage within the department, certain subspecialties may be preferred. Current research specialties: Cancer Biology, Neurodegenerative Diseases, Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology, Cell Motility, Cytoskeleton and Intracellular Trafficking, Virology, Neuronal Stem Cells, Precision Medicine, Clinical or Anatomic subspecialties.
Preferred Qualifications: Depending on the field of research and current needs for field and instructional coverage within the department, certain subspecialties may be preferred.

Hiring Salary Range: $79,327 - $450,000
- Associate Research Scientist: $79,327 to $125,000
- Instructor: $97,793 to $150,000
- Assistant Professor / Asst Professor at CUMC: $105,581 to $325,000
- Associate Professor / Associate Professor at CUMC: $113,368 to $368,000
- Professor / Professor at CUMC: $128,943 to $450,000
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
