Job Details
Position Summary
The Department of Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Georgia, invites applications for a clinical (non-tenure) track faculty position in veterinary soft tissue surgery and interventional radiology at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor.
The major responsibilities of this position will be to teach and provide service in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, teach pre-clinical didactic and laboratory courses in soft tissue surgery to veterinary students, to actively participate in the training of surgery and non-surgery house officers, and to build the interventional radiology service caseload. Proportionate assignments for each area are based on the interests of the candidate, faculty assignment, and the missions of the soft tissue surgery and interventional radiology programs and department.
The successful candidate will join a soft tissue surgery service with four full-time faculty members, six residents, and two dedicated technicians in support of the University of Georgia Veterinary Teaching Hospital, a 300,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility. The candidate in this position will spend approximately half of their clinical service time on one of two soft tissue surgery services and the other half of their time focused on interventional radiology cases. The UGA Cardiology and Internal Medicine services currently perform a variety of interventional radiology procedures; however, we are looking to expand our clinical offerings in this area.
Special Instructions to Applicants
We invite qualified applicants to submit: (1) a letter of intent including professional interests and career goals, (2) a curriculum vitae, and (3) the name, mailing address, and contact information for three professional references.
